Bush Shoe Throw: Shoe Sculpture Erected Then Taken Down

Remember the Bush shoe throw incident back in December? If you don’t then here’s a reminder.

Reminds me of the good old dodgeball days, good times. This incident taught us two things, George W. Bush is actually a ninja and all that practice dodging the media, questions, and the issues paid off big time.

Continue for the shoe sculpture story.

Say what you want about George W. Bush, but he did do a much better than Austin Powers who couldn’t dodge a shoe for his life.

A shoe sculpture, made by sculptor Laith al-Amiri and the children of the orphanage, has been erected at the Tikrit Orphanage in Saddam Hussein’s home town of Tikrit. Umm a shoe monument huh? I guess it’s the thought that counts.

A huge sculpture of the footwear hurled at President Bush in December during a trip to Iraq has been unveiled in a ceremony at the Tikrit Orphanage complex.

Assisted by children at the home, sculptor Laith al-Amiri erected a brown replica of one of the shoes hurled at Bush and Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki by journalist Muntadhir al-Zaidi during a press conference in Baghdad.

Only a day after the artist, Laith al-Amiri, unvealed the Bush Shoe Throw Monument, the sculpture is taken away and destroyed.

“I did take the shoe down immediately and destroyed it, and I did not ask why,” Shahah Daham told the German news agency DPA.

Mr Jabara was also quoted by CNN as saying: “We will not allow anyone to use the government facilities and buildings for political motives.”

It was probably for the best since it looked quite ugly and stupid anyway. Speaking of ugly and stupid, where are my clothes and shoes?
